ICC History
The Illawarra
Canoe Club was established in the late 1960's and is currently based in Dapto, one of the southern suburbs of Wollongong.
Our clubhouse, situated on the banks of Mullet Creek, on Prince Edward
Drive at Brownsville was unfortunately destroyed in a fire lit by vandals in June 2004.
Whilst reconstruction options on the Beach Park site were thoroughly investigated, the most feasible option for the Club is to relocate our headquarters to the Illawarra Aquatic Centre on the shores of Lake Illawarra, adjacent to The Illawarra Yacht Club, Northcliff Drive, Warrawong.
It is anticipated that the relocation will occurr during mid 2010. |
