clubhouse opening and paddlesport open day a great success
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout for the official opening of the newly renovated Illawarra Rowing Centre.
The highlight of the day was the official opening Ceremony which included a ceremonial blessing of water craft by the Reverends from the Nan Tien Temple.
Following the ceremony was a symbolic race open to all craft from the various clubs including kayaks, outriggers and dragon boats, then anyone interested was able to try their hand in a range of kayaks, ski's, outrigger canoes and a dragon boat.

Mitchell & Breanna Reid Shine at NSW All Schools Sprint Regatta
Congratulations to two of our junior members, brother and sister combination Mitchell and Breanna Reid from Marulan who competed in the NSW All Schools Canoing Championships, held on the Clarence River, Grafton on May 14th.
Both Breanna and Mitchell have been training hard on Lake "Narrabulla" between Marulan and Golburn in preparation for the event and reaped the rewards for their efforts with personal best times in all events with podium finishes. Due to lack of numbers in the Under 13 age group, Breanna was forced to compete in the Open's, against paddlers much older and more experienced than herself.
